“In our power, Social sustainability & Communities” is organized by Angsbacka, NEXTGEN, GEN Finland, Findhorn and Spain. It the 11th project under the umbrella of “Yes to Sustainability”, an international project that aims to bring together young people from different regions of Europe by organizing Youth Exchanges in different ecovillages, funded by Erasmus+, from 2017 to 2019.

Participants will be funded by the Erasmus+ program, both for the travel (a small fee can occur if ticket prices are exceeding the maximum), activities, food and accommodation.

In the ecovillage Angsbacka, a leading meeting point in Scandinavia, 28 young people and 4 youth leaders from Sweden, Finland, Spain and UK, who will meet from May 1-10, 2019. They will come together to experience life in an ecovillage and explore what kind of life they are creating for themselves and the world. During these days, they will organize different activities, and take time to reflect on how to develop own life in a sustainable direction.

WHEN? From 1 to 10 of May 2019 (Arrival on the 30th of April – Departure on the 11 of May)

WHERE? The Youth Exchange will take place in Angsbacka, Sweden. 

Ängsbacka is a course and festival centre in northern Europe, located in the beautiful deep forests of Värmland in Sweden, halfway between Stockholm and Oslo. We offer courses and festivals for creative and playful people who want to live a more conscious life, live from the heart and care for our planet.

Our vision is to be a leading meeting point for sustainable human development, and a source of inspiration for social, personal and global well being, bringing people to the realization of whom and what we really are beyond thoughts and concepts.

Since 1997 thousands of people have been touched by the warm, open, loving atmosphere during workshops, festivals and volunteer experiences here at Ängsbacka. Hundreds of people have lived and worked here over the past 20 years, bringing their gifts and contributing to the unique Ängsbacka magic.

Ängsbacka is run by a staff of approximately twenty people, and between 25 – 40 volunteers that live here all year around.


  • Assisting in different community works with a special focus on festival season preparation (Summer of Love)
  • Daily Working Groups: Park/Garden, HouseKeeping


  • Through different activities we have time to explore and share our dreams, challenges and opportunities as a generation, participate at workshops and intercultural activities,  discovering topics like Ecovillages, Sustainability, Working and living in Community, Relationships and Social dynamics
